Dear Master Lai,

Thank you for another wonderful year of Nampaichuan. Just when I think that I’m getting accustomed to the wonderful art of NPC, this year has taught me more than most, about how difficult and complex the system is. It’s the continual aspect of learning and application that has me so addicted and, along with your selfless and priceless teaching, I feel so privileged to enrol in such a wonderful art, especially when I see friends and colleagues outside of NPC struggle to find the motivation and energy to follow suit. It is rare, in today’s society, to find a teacher or guide who can integrate modern techniques into traditional methods and I feel extremely fortunate to have found such a Sifu.

Thank
you for having the patience to teach me over the years. You have
generously taught me aspects of my mind and body that I didn’t believe
were possible – whilst also helping me to acknowledge that this is just
the start of a long, fulfilling journey.

As I remember from your words when I first started almost 20 years ago: NPC is a way of life.
